Happy New Year! This month brings fresh energy — try these three fun, family-friendly movement challenges that take 10–15 minutes each. Encourage everyone to join and track progress with stickers or a simple chart.

Step & Stretch Relay - Set a timer for 10 minutes. Family members alternate: 1- minute brisk walking in place or around the house, then 30 seconds of a stretch (hamstring reach, calf stretch, shoulder rolls). Repeat. Goal: keep a steady pace and complete at least six cycles.

Balance Course - Use pillows, tape lines, or chalk to create a short course. Tasks: heel-to-toe walk, one-leg stand for 10 seconds, slow hop across a pillow. Time each family member and try to improve over three rounds. Focus on controlled movement and spotting each other for safety.

Family Fitness Circuit - Create four stations: jumping jacks (30s), wall sit (30s), plank (30s), and bear crawl (30s). Rotate with 30 seconds rest between stations. Complete 3 rounds. Modify times for younger kids (reduce hold times, increase rest).

Celebrate effort — not perfection — and share photos or short videos to keep motivation high.
