COUNSELOR & SOCIAL WORKER

As spring testing season approaches, many students experience nervousness or worry, and that's completely normal! Testing anxiety can affect concentration and performance, but the good news is there are practical strategies that really help.

For Students:
Practice calming techniques: Try deep breathing, progressive muscle relaxation, or grounding exercises
Reframe your thoughts: Replace worry with confidence: "I've prepared and I'll do my best" Reach out: Talk to teachers, counselors, or friends if you're feeling overwhelmed

For Families:
Keep perspective: One test doesn't define your child's abilities or future
Encourage growth: Focus on effort and improvement, not just scores

Feeling some nervousness shows you care about doing well. Students who prepare thoroughly and maintain a growth mindset are better equipped to manage testing anxiety and perform well!
