GETTING READY FOR A SUCCESSFUL SCHOOL YEAR

IN THE INNOVATIONS DESIGN LAB

As we head back to school, it is important to remember the rules and procedures that help keep our classroom a safe and happy place. First, be prepared with your charged iPad. It's also important to listen carefully when your teacher is speaking and to raise your hand if you have a question. Make sure to treat your classmates with kindness and respect, as we are all here to learn together. Finally, remember to return any signed paperwork from your parents, like permission slips or forms, to show that you are ready for the new school year. Following these expectations will help everyone have a great year!

In September we will be creating our first video for our upcoming Career Night. We have been having meaningful conversations around the different types of jobs that exist within our community and beyond.
In October we will work on our Common-Sense Media lessons around internet safety. We will also begin typing and working on our WPM and accuracy as these are two important components in becoming a great and efficient typist.

Tech Tips for Parents:
·Set Screen Time Limits: Ensure your child has a healthy balance between being offline (playing outside, leisure activities, reading) and online.
·Explore Educational Apps: There are many educational apps available to reinforce skills and standards that your student learns in class.
